Christmas Fishes for Wishes

Client: Sinclair Centre/ SNC Lavalin
Date: December 2008

CVM Events has done several events for Sinclair Centre, beginning with a last minute Christmas Event. A creative approach was required as the goal of the weeklong Christmas event was to appeal to neighbouring office workers to repeatedly visit Sinclair Centre, with an emphasis on the Food Court.

CVM Events accomplished this with an indoor fishing derby in which a player’s daily catch was accumulated over the week, tallied at the end to determine the grand prizewinner.

CVM Events was responsible for creative, marketing (promotional materials/press releases/direct mail), event logistics, décor and production.

It was a very fun and positive event on a number of levels:

  • A fee–to-play was collected to support The Children’s Wish Foundation – players enjoyed supporting the charity.
  • The challenge of the event resulted in word-of-mouth advertising.
  • The enthusiastic, repeat visitors to the derby were enjoyed by Sinclair Centre merchants.
  • The need to score keep enabled us to create a database for future Sinclair Centre communications.

Davie Day

Client: West End Business Improvement Association
Date: September 2008

A fast start was required for CVM Events to step in and produce this full day event as our services were retained by the West End BIA with only 3 months to create all aspects of this family friendly public event over a 4 block street closure.

CVM Events was responsible for creative (logo/advertising/marketing/promotional material), marketing plans (media buys/social media/press releases/PR), sponsorship and participant procurement (retail/entertainment) event logistics, City of Vancouver coordination (Police/Fire/Transit/ Health), production and volunteer coordination.

“Thanks for your hard work with Davie Day. The day was a huge success!”
Lyn Hellyar, Executive Director West End BIA
